Help Turn Trash at Villa Feliz into a Community Garden

It’s like the old saying, “Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you’ve fed him for a lifetime.” Be The Love is initiating a new Labors of Love project called Garbage to Garden. The focus is to help turn trash into a community garden and educate the community at Villa Feliz on how to not only properly dispose of garbage, but also to recycle and compost. At the root, Be The Love wants the community to thrive. But in order to accomplish this project, we need your help!

What Your Donation Will Accomplish

Your donation will go toward building 50-100 trashcans and distributing them around the villa. One trashcan costs roughly $75, which means Be The Love would need roughly $3,750-$7,500 total to make this project a success. In addition to distributing these trashcans, Be The Love will educate the community on how to not only properly dispose of garbage, but also to recycle and compost to help create thriving community gardens. The second part of this project is to establish the community gardens. The community gardens would need supplies, such as gardening tools, soil, seeds, and a working well, which would be roughly $750.

We are starting our newest Labor of Love to clean up the villa and create a healthier environment. What we know is that orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children, families, and communities have limited resources—education, financial, health, etc. At the core of the organization, Be The Love aims to break these barriers and give children, families, and communities resources to thrive and grow to their fullest potential.
